We planned to make a video of our whole journey to Belgium, but we forgot the camera charger in Colorado, so we only got as far as Kansas...but here it is!

This was our old apartment in Ft. Collins, the day we were moving out it was really cold, the firemen said it froze one of the pipes and made the fire sprinklers go off... nothing is ever easy with us...

We drove 2 hours to a town in Belgium called Bastonge, it is where the battle of the bulge took place, and there are a lot of WWII memorials and museums thanking the americans. The first museum we went was to was very cool, it had rooms set up to look like the town when they were bombed, and they were all filled with toys and household objects that made it through the war, and it was in english! there were a few memorials on the sides of roads where battles took place, or there were american foxholes. Seemed like they were very randomly placed, but they were very well taken care of, and most of them even had flowers in front of them, it was nice to see the appreication for America. There is also a very big monument to the Americans, it has all the states carved into it, and plaques about the war, its huge! They also have a museum set up, that is in english filled with old uniforms and tanks and guns,but they didnt let us take any pictures there. All in all it was a very good day, learned a lot about the battle of the bulge. so heres some pictures of our day, rainy cold day, but it was a fun day.

the statue in the town center of Antwerp. the story goes, a long time ago there was a giant who taxed everyone who wanted to stop in the town and use the canal. a man did not want to pay the taxes and chopped off the hand of the giant and tossed it into the river. "antwerpen" means hand throwing.

Hello!! We finally have the internet working in the house! It took 4 French speaking Belgian guys 3 hours, but we have internet, and I couldn't be happier lol. So here is what's new with us...



BABY NEWS

I went to the doctorabout a week ago, and met with my doctor's assistant. First of all let me tell you that Belgian hospitals do not have hospital gowns. They certainly do not have the same level of modesty as they do in the states. So I'm in the room and she tells me to take my pants off, and doesn't five me anything to put on...So I'm just laying on the table, half naked getting an ultrasound, it was quite interesting. She poked around with the ultrasound for a while and we got to hear the heartbeat, and then we found out we're having a girl! We're naming her DeLois Kay. For those of you who don't know, DeLois was my grandma's name and it is my middle name. Kay is my mom's middle name, so she will have lots of family history in her name. Mat is a little sad that he isn't having a son yet, but we can't wait to have a daughter! Breanna is very excited to have a little sister, she told me that she is going to share her barbies with DeLois, as long as she doesn't chew on them lol. It's nice knowing what we're having, shopping is so much more fun now! We registered on Walmart.com and Target.com, but we have to get the bigger stuff here, because they won't ship to APO boxes. So Mat and I are planning a trip to Rammstein, Germany, they have a really big PX there and we can shop for cribs and take them home from there. Its about a 3 hour drive, and it should be a fun trip. I have another doctors appointment on the 31st with my actual doctor, and then I have to schedule a tour of the labor and deliver area next month, and I'm looking forward to all that.
we are pretty much all moved in to our house, its just nice to have all of our things back finally. Those hotel beds were really getting to me. I think thats really all the news I've got right now. and I will update more often now that i can actually get online. Love you all!
