Day 16 (with videos!!)

The first video is when we first showed the goat to Kay

This is her throwing herself on it and relaxing :)

Day 16, KayLeigh wearing her shirt as a scarf/hat

Today was the laziest of lazy days, Mat hasn't had much time off lately, so we took this opportunity to lay around and watch some TV and relax. He has to work this weekend, then we're going to Germany for a few days next week, and we've got a few Christmas parties to go to :) I think Kay enjoyed just laying around on the couch with daddy, and she got to watch more Elmo than she usually does, so it was a good day for her! It's still rainy and cold outside, so it's not like we really wanted to go out anyways...

My mom called and told me that the package she sent was supposed to be here today.. at like 4pm, our post office closes at 5:30, so I had to send Mat out to go get it, because there was no way I could wait until Monday for a box! Mat got home, and Kay was up from her nap, so we opened up the box, and my mom sent her a GIANT pillow pet, a big goat, and she loves that thing lol. Its huge for her, so she can fit her whole body on it, lol. It's like her own personal little goat shaped couch lol. She was being silly today, putting her shirts on as scarves or hats, and putting her driving toy in her stroller and pushing it around. Never a dull moment with KayLeigh around. She attempted to break into a few more presents today, managed to take the ribbon off a present from Mat's dad...Just have to make it 9 more days KayLeigh, I think I'm as excited as she is, for her to open her presents!!  So here's some pictures, and a few videos, that Facebook didn't get!!!  To start your weekend off right, with lots of cute! :) love you!

I have a better video of her with the snowman, but of course it wont upload, but I think you can tell from her growling how excited she was about it :)

it took her a couple tries to get it to fit in there...

Day 15 (much better than yesterday)

KayLeigh helping mommy put the dogs in jail before we go byebye

Presents from Erin and Cory :)
KayLeigh was helping me corral the dogs into "jail" (thats what we call their kennel) before we went out today, she got Foxie to go in there, then squatted down at the entrance, and was telling her an awful lot, in baby talk, then shut the door and walked away lol. I guess she was telling Foxie to behave and stay in jail, haha. She cracks me up everyday. Mat had to go to the range today, so he got to sleep in a little bit, which is nice, I always like snuggling in bed for longer than 4am. Kay and I got up and ate breakfast and watched some Elmo, because I need to relax for a bit in the morning before I'm ready to run around with that crazy girl :) Then we headed to Shape to get lunch with my friend Chelsea, which was nice. It's good to get out of the house and have a little girl time! We hung out for a few hours, then went to check the mail, and got 3 boxes, yay! I love getting boxes, in case you didn't know :) We got two from Mat's dad and Pam (thanks!) and one from my sister and brother in law (thank you!!!). So our tree is even more Chrismas-y with more presents, especially since my sister wrapped her presents super cute! And KayLeigh has a bunch more nice warm weather clothes, thanks to Mat's dad and Pam :)

After checking the mail, kay and I headed home, she took a nap while we waited for Mat to get home, and then we had lunch and headed to Chievres to get groceries. We picked up our presents for KayLeigh, and got ourselves a nice, new GPS finally, since our european one we bought when we first moved here broke a few months ago... we can make do with mapquest, but having a gps makes life sooooo much easier! KayLeigh rode around in one of the car baskets in the grocery store, saying "beep beep" and "bye bye" to everyone we passed lol. She was quite social today :) now we're home, Kay's asleep, and Mat and I are relaxing. all the presents are wrapped, and hopefully they will stay that way for the 10 more days until Christmas, but I"m not so sure, with the way KayLeigh is lol. Hopefully the video up there will work, its of KayLeigh watching the Snowman that Grandma tracy sent her :) The website seems to be cooperating tonight so lets hope!
Thats all for today, I love you, hope your Thursday was a good one! And thank you everyone who has sent us gifts, we appreciate them more than you know! <3
Just another cute picture of Kay :) you can see her cute little baby pearl earrings : D

Day 14. not cooperating!!!! (fixed!)

Well this is annoying..the stupid blog website won't let me upload ANY pictures, I even tried putting an old one of kay up, so at least I would have a picture for this blog...but noooooooo... it just keeps telling me there's an error, so frustrating! Today's Daily Kayleigh is super cute too, she was being a wild child and yelling while she was running around, and I managed to get a picture of it... It's up on my facebook, and I'll try again later to upload a picture...but who knows if it will work. KayLeigh and I had another relaxed day, we cleaned the bathroom, well I cleaned, and she threw random things into the tub...she helped me clean up her room, that she actually helps with and puts her clothes in the hamper. :) She took a good nap today, and actually ate a lot! We're still waiting for her molars to come in, it seems like her teeth take forever!! I wanted to go for a walk, but it was rainy and miserable all day, so we stayed inside. I made dinner and then had to go to a meeting for my hair show, which is next month. My country is the Netherlands, and I've got to put together an outfit for it.. so any suggestions are welcome! the lady that is putting it together said she's open to any suggestions of what I want to do with my hair, so I'm pretty excited, hoping for at least a new haircut, and for free! yay! So I"m going to start looking online for something I want...:) The last few days have been super boring I know, and now no picture!!! but stay tuned, I promise i'll have some good ones tomorrow, as long as the stupid website cooperates!!!
love you all!!!

Got it to upload! finally :) :) :)

Day 13

Day 13, riding the vacuum cleaner...

Today was another lazy day for Kay and I... It was raining and being miserable Belgium outside, so we didn't leave the house, I guess I'll have to go check the mail and get some groceries tomorrow. I think I'm going to have  to put the baby gate up around the christmas tree, otherwise Kay won't have any presents to open on Christmas!! She keeps sneaking over to the corner and ripping one particular present open, it's one she likes to play with at the store, so maybe she recognizes that it's an elmo toy...That or she thinks I don't notice her in the corner...I do!! She is not as sneaky as she thinks she is!!! I am glad that we bought her a ride-on toy for christmas, that way she can stop riding the vacuum lol. She hopped on it earlier and tired scooting around, saying "car car car" she's such a little goofball lol. She always helps me push it around the living room, or at least she thinks she's helping :) but this is the first time she's tried to ride it, pretty hilarious! We didnt do much of anything today, Mat had a pt test and did well, then I made hamburgers for dinner, and they were tasty. Kay's appetite is still pretty good today, so I'm happy about that. Now if only she would stop yelling and banging around in her crib and go to bed!!! Went up there a few minutes ago to check on her, and she had thrown her blanket out and was just standing there yelling, but when I open the door, she throws herself down, like she's asleep... she has got such an attitude already!! lol.
If anyone saw the news today about Liege, its about 40 minutes from us, and we weren't there, and no one we know was hurt, thank goodness, we'll be extra aware of our surroundings, but we're not really worried about our safety.
love you all!!

Day 12 .....31 days of KayLeigh

we had spaghetti for dinner :)

Today was finally a lazy day for Kay and I. We thought Mat had the day off, but nope... so it was just us girls at home, and we took advantage of that by staying in pj's all day, and watching cartoons! I did clean the house up a bit, so it's not such a disaster anymore, which is nice... and Kay painted some pictures that I think I'll hang in the hall, or our bedroom, haven't decided yet... She seems to have her appetite back today, which is nice. She ate a bunch of leftover turnkey for lunch, the same turkey that she wouldnt touch at dinner last night! She ate about half an apple for a snack, and ate a bunch of noodles for dinner, but refused to eat the sausage I made with it.. Oh well, can't win them all I guess. She took a good nap, and went to sleep easily for the first time in a while. Maybe she appreicates going to sleep in her crib, instead of her on the road naps she's been having to take lately! Mat got some of the paperwork for the new car signed today, we'll still have to wait quite a while for it though, like I said, Belgium teaches you patience!!
We didn't do a whole lot today, found out that Kay really likes the movie UP, which is cool, because I like it a whole lot more than Elmo lol. we snuggled and played, and recovered from our crazy week today, so it was a good Monday for us. Hope you all had a good start to your week too! love you!

Day 11, and the Air Force Children's party

Day 11- Kay in the box her snowman came in from Grandma Tracy

KayLeigh got to open a Christmas present today, from Grandma Tracy! She was excited to rip one open, and not have me yell at her lol. She got a snowman thats almost as tall as her, and it plays music and has snowglobes for a belly, its pretty neat, and she likes it a lot. I took a video but the website is being really stupid and won't upload it, so I'll have to try it on a different blog, and maybe on firefox instead of google chrome...but anyways, today was a fun day. Mat had to get up early to drive someone to the airport, but he was a wonderful husband and brought me home starbucks from one of the two Starbucks in all of Belgium!! yum! So my day started out pretty great! I let kay open a present, and she played with that for a while, she made it play music so much I had to recharge the batteries lol. We got dressed once Mat got home and headed to base to help set up for the Air Force Christmas party. We helped set up the food and stuff and hung out with our friends until the party started, ate some tasty food, its always better when I don't have to cook it lol. Although I did make some cupcakes, luckily most of those got eaten at the party! Santa came to the party, and he gave out presents, KayLeigh was not thrilled by him... she hated him in fact lol. We tried twice, to see if she would warm up to him... not even a chance! But she ran around and ate a bunch, and played in the bouncy house with Mat...so i think she had a pretty good time, minus santa! She got a Big Bird stacking toy, that she seems to like pretty well, anything to do with sesame street usually goes over pretty well with her. After the party, we went over to Mat's supervisor's house and had a Christmas dinner with him, and another family. We had a really good time over there too. Another meal that I didn't have to cook! :) KayLeigh fell asleep in the car for a little while in between parties, and was unhappy for the first part of dinner, but the other family's daughter, who is about 16, started to play with her, and Kay just thought she was the best thing ever. After dinner we drove to SHAPE to look at...our new car! We're buying a new to us car anyways. A 2007 suzuki XL7, its really nice! Good price, good shape, 7 seats, fancy inside, we love it! We drove that around base for a while, and now we've just got to get all the paperwork finalized, sucks that tomorrow is Monday, because everything on the American base, including our bank, is closed!! So we have to wait on that, and we'll have to wait a while for plates and registration, but waiting is nothing new in Belgium, you have to wait for everything here... But we are super excited, and we'll have a car to carry around all the family that is coming to visit next year!
We have had a very busy week, and I think I'm finally going to get a chance to relax and clean the house a bit tomorrow, hopefully!! I love you all, hope you're sunday was a good one!

Day 10 and Christmas Markets

Day 10, Kay in Maastricht eating a cherry pastry. yum!

Today was a busy, fun day! We went to the Nederlands with our friends Matt and Kelly, and visited a few Christmas markets! We rented a big van so we could all drive together, and put KayLeigh and Kelly's son, Brody, in the back together, they got to watch dvds on the way home, and that made Kay pretty happy! We went to Maastrict first, which is about an hour and a half away from where we live, so not bad at all! We got there, parked, and bundled the kids up, because it was pretty chilly today! could've been a lot worse though, it wasnt windy or raining, so we were happy. We wandered through town and walked through the Chrismas market, got some delicious pastries, and just enjoyed the sights. There was a cute little kid choir singing songs inside a mall, so we watched them for a few minutes, then walked around a bit more. Then we headed to the Valkenburg caves, which was only about 15 mins away. The caves were really neat, and the town itself was very cool. It was just sooooo crowded in those caves!! I kept trying to get pictures, and they didnt come out because it was so hot, and after being outside in the cold, my camera lens kept fogging up! There were so many people crammed in those caves, it was fun for a little while, but it felt like they would never end! And the husbands had the kids in backpacks, so we didnt have to bring the strollers in there, so they were getting tired quickly. We looked around and KayLeigh really liked looking at all the lights and decorations, and was pointing at everything. We got some tasty german potato things, and some bratwurst and a hamburger to eat, Kay really liked the Hamburger, and ate more than mat probably wanted lol! After the markets, we had a big hike back up to where we parked the car, but it was worth it. I wish it hadnt been so crowded, but it was nice to get out of the house, and out of Belgium for a while, especially with good friends!! I am exhausted now, and still have to make cupcakes for our AirForce Christmas party tomorrow, so I'll talk to you all tomorrow! love you!! Hope your weekend is off to a good start!
