Day 8..31 days of KayLeigh

Painting a holiday picture

                    Today did not start off that great... Mat left for work around 5am.. and I went back to sleep, only to be woken up about 40 mins later, by the most awful smell...Wolfie has been having stomach troubles lately, and we thought they had passed, but we were wrong! So I woke up and had to clean up his mess off the carpet..bleck! Not really the way I want to start my day!! So I got up, let the dogs out, and let the room air out for a bit before I dared go back in. I settled back into bed about an hour later, and then KayLeigh decided to wake up...about two hours earlier than she normally does...really?! So we came downstairs in our cozy jammies and snuggled up on the couch with a sippy cup of milk and blankies, and watched elmo for a while, until the sun came up. We had breakfast, although Kay really hasn't had much of an appetite lately, I think, and hope its just because of the teething, these are the first set of molars, and they both seem to be breaking through at the same time, poor girl. After sharing some cereal, because what I'm eating is always infinitely better than whatever I've given her, we got dressed and headed to SHAPE. I finally picked out a Christmas present for my dad, and checked the mail, and we got boxes! You have no idea how excited I get when we have packages! We had to run to the GB, (belgian grocery store) and get some cat food, because the cat eats so much we ran out a lot faster than we thought we would. I also got some tasty pain chocolade (chocolate bread pastry thing) from the bakery for Kay and I to eat on the way home... I cleaned up poop at 5 am, I deserve a pastry!!! KayLeigh fell asleep on the drive home, and took a pretty good nap, that was nice. I unpacked the boxes (thank you for the silverware mom! and thank you for all the presents tracy!) and put all the gifts under the tree. When kay woke up from her nap, she was surprised and seemed happy to see all the new presents. she says they're "Peebee" which is her way of saying "pretty". Kay and I hung out for a while, I had to stop her from opening the presents, she runs off with them when I'm not looking... Then went back to base to mail some gifts before the christmas deadline is up.  Mat got home a little while ago, and we ate dinner, and I put Kay to bed. 

                      She has the cutest little routine before she goes to bed, she always gives Mat a kiss goodnight, and she just started making her little lips pucker for the kiss, its adorable! She likes to climb the stairs on her own, and we go to the bathroom to brush her teeth, she likes to try and help, and she's pretty good about letting me brush them. Then we make our way to the bedroom and she picks out a book, she lays on the floor so I can change her diaper and put her pjs on, all the while looking through the book...Then she carries her diaper over to the trash and throws it away for me, then her most recent skill is that she picks up her clothes, each piece one by one, and puts them in the hamper for me. Its the cutest thing, and she is always so proud of herself! I"ll have to try and record it one of these nights for you guys, its so freaking adorable. Then she shuts of the light, because in all of our Belgian bedrooms we have 2 light switches, one at normal height by the door, then there's a second one on another wall, right at Kay's height, so she shuts off the light herself. then she climbs onto the rocking chair with me and we read a book, then its time for bed! Bed time is probably my favorite time of day, not just because it means I get to relax for a little while, but she's the most snuggly and cute before she goes to bed. She likes to point out all the body parts she knows, he eyes, ears, nose, mouth, feet, belly, and we practice the sign language she knows. then cuddles and sleep! She never really cared about toys in her crib before, but she really likes for her baby, the binky bear to be with her now, and a special blanket that breanna bought for her last Christmas. 

            That was all for today, not sure what's in store for tomorrow, depends on how much KayLeigh sleeps tonight I guess. Love you all!!!!
